Can you help me with this problem?
It's so sad when these lovely leaves turn yellow. It's usually down to those pesky spider mites!
They can stick around for over two weeks, so getting rid of them is essential. I'd recommend cleaning the leaves with isopropyl alcohol, warm water with dish soap, and neem oil. Repeat every two weeks. You can also use pyrethrum or other insecticides/miticides if you'd like, but if you'd rather not, just cut them off. If you feel sorry for them, treat the affected leaves and others that haven't been treated because they could also have the potential to be contagious.
It looks like most of the yellow leaves are due to overwatering, which can lead to root rot and leaves that don't get the nutrients they need. I would suggest cutting back on the watering time in the coming weeks to help them out. Also, try cutting the rotting roots. I'm sure you'll see them get better soon!
It might just be because the air is a bit dry. I suggest snippping those yellow or damaged leaves for a bit. That should help new leaves sprout and make the air a little more moist.
If your leaves are yellowing with green veins, it might be because they're not getting the nutrients they need, especially iron. But don't worry, there's an easy fix! Just fertilize your Alocasia with a balanced liquid fertilizer during the growing season, and you'll be all set.
